HTC Sensation XE

HTC has officially announced the HTC Sensation XE with Beats Audio. It is the first phone from HTC to offer Beats Audio experience after the successful acquisition of Beats by Dr Dre. However, this not the HTC Runnymede as we previously reported. At a glance, the HTC Sensation XE looks exactly same as the original HTC Sensation except with the elaborated reddish exterior on the speaker grill, touch buttons and the rear camera. Powering the HTC Sensation XE is the very same Qualcomm MSM 8260 Snapdragon processor in the HTC Sensation, but HTC has decided to bump up the clock speed to 1.5GHz, making it on par with the international variant of Samsung Galaxy S II. The HTC Sensation XE is equipped with 768MB of RAM, the same amount with its predecessor. The device is running on Android version 2.3 (Gingerbread) with HTC Sense UI. Of course, the HTC Sensation XE comes with the exclusive earphones with remote control that is designed by Beats by Dr Dre. Plus, a customized sound profile by Dr Dre is preloaded in the phone to deliver "audio tracks tuned specifically for the headphones" whenever the exclusive earphones is plugged into the phone. HTC touted that you will "hear music the way the artist intended" with this combination. For photos and videos, the HTC Sensation XE has an 8-megapixel imager with LED flash. It has the capability of recording 1080p full HD video. It also has a front-facing VGA camera. Connectivity-wise, the device supports HSDPA 14.4Mbps, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. HTC has extended the battery to 1730 mAh that HTC promises 550 minutes of talktime and 310 hours of standby time on a GSM connection. The HTC Sensation XE will be available from late September across Asia, Europe, Africa and Middle East. No official pricing is announced yet.
